Cypher Capital

Bill It Up, the show where AI meets crypto and East meets West, hosted by Bill Qian of Cypher Capital

How we built a full content engine around a 154K subscriber podcast, turning stacked guest lists into daily content and a sharper personal brand for one of crypto's most connected VCs

The challenge

Cypher Capital is a leading crypto and AI venture firm, and their Managing Director Bill Qian already hosts Bill It Up, a YouTube show with over 154K subscribers where the world's top founders talk about the future of technology

The guest list was stacked with founders from Polygon, KAST and other major names, but the content around the podcast did not match the level of the conversations. No premium trailers, no short form clips, no real distribution strategy, so the value was getting lost

The goal was not just to publish episodes. It was to grow Bill It Up into a category defining show, build Bill Qian's personal brand, and make Cypher Capital the first name founders and LPs think of in the region

The team had no content experience and needed a partner who could take full ownership while understanding crypto, tech and venture

What we did

01

Deep research before action

We started by understanding who the content was for: crypto and AI founders, young ambitious minds, and people building bridges between Eastern and Western ecosystems. That clarity shaped the creative direction from day one

02

A specialized team

A copywriter to select key moments and script 4 to 5 short form reels per episode

A trailer copywriter for high energy promos and moodboards, a trailer editor for motion led hype cuts, and a video editor turning long form footage into polished short form with animations

03

AI plus storytelling

We layered in AI voiceover to narrate the trailers, using a consistent tone to keep the storytelling tight and engaging

04

Repurposing and distribution

Each episode became videos for Instagram and YouTube Shorts, written summaries and newsletters, carousels and statics for LinkedIn, and transcript based content for SEO

Once content went live we tracked what performed and iterated fast, updating formats to match audience behaviour

Results and impact

  • Bill It Up now sits at 154K+ YouTube subscribers with steady growth in views and reach
  • 30+ content pieces per month from the podcasts, at least one piece to post every day
  • Saved Cypher Capital 20+ hours per week, they just approve and post
  • They are constantly attracting some of the most reputable founders in the world and positioning themselves as the leading VC in the region
